January 2018 New IC Event – The USIC World Challenge 2018 brings a brand new IC Council event, instigated by the former President of the IC of USA, Dan Waldman. The inaugural USIC World Challenge presented by Crabel Capital is scheduled to take place on 9-13 March 2018 at one of the finest clubs in the USA, the Mission Hills Country Club in Palm Springs, California. The event is for top international 60+ male players and will consist of five players from the IC of USA vs. five players from the rest of the ICs of the world. The format will consist of a round robin singles, with doubles on the last day, a cocktail party on the Saturday night for all IC members and a trip to watch the Indian Wells ATP 1000 tournament. The captain for the IC of USA team is Dan Waldman and the captain for the ICs of the World is still to be decided. The Mission Hills County Club boasts an impressive 34 courts, with 10 grass courts on which this event will be played on. There is also a donor for the event to help with the costs of hotels, meals and transportation. It is an exciting new event and one that we are hoping will expand to include additional competitors and will be held annually.
